The legendary Rajdoot, a name synonymous with reliability and a bygone era of Indian motorcycling, is making a comeback! The 2026 Rajdoot 175 is poised to recapture the hearts of riders seeking a no-nonsense, dependable machine. Forget flashy launches; this is a motorcycle built for the real world. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s rolling out from the factory.
First Look
Envision the iconic steel frame, the classic round headlamp, and gleaming chrome fenders, now finished in eye-catching Candy Red and sophisticated Midnight Black. The seat offers enhanced comfort with its wider design and stitched pattern, reminiscent of durable school bags. The handlebar retains its familiar feel but with a lighter touch. Upon ignition, the speedometer illuminates with a gentle orange glow. It’s a Rajdoot, pure and simple.
Powerful Engine
Beneath the fuel tank resides a robust 175 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. This powerplant delivers 14 bhp and generates 15 Nm of torque at a low 4,500 rpm. What does this mean? Effortless pulling power, even with a fully loaded luggage rack, from 20 km/h to 60 km/h. The exhaust note retains the distinctive thump-thump of the 1980s, now cleaner and compliant with BS-VI emission standards.
Smart Technology
While it’s not overflowing with tech, the 2026 Rajdoot 175 incorporates a practical touch. A small LCD display integrated below the speedometer provides real-time fuel efficiency, gear indication, and service alerts. No Bluetooth here, but you will get a hidden USB charging port located under the seat. That’s all the ‘smart’ you’ll need for adventures beyond the city limits.
Mileage
The company claims an impressive 63 km per litre when cruising below 60 km/h. During our test ride on the highway near the factory, we filled the tank with 6 litres and returned with 1.2 litres remaining. This translates to a remarkable 62.8 kmpl. Pretty close to the company claim! Even in stop-and-go city traffic with two riders and luggage, we achieved a commendable 52 kmpl. Your wallet will thank you.
