The government has launched two official applications for ration cardholders: Mera KYC App and Aadhaar FaceRD App. With the help of these apps, you can perform face verification of your Aadhaar data. Here’s how:
- Download the Mera KYC App and Aadhaar FaceRD App on your smartphone.
- Enter your location and Aadhaar number in the app.
- Verify using the OTP you receive.
- Select the “Face e-KYC” option and follow the camera instructions to scan your face.
- Your e-KYC will be completed in seconds, and you will receive a confirmation message.
This whole process takes 2-3 minutes and it’s free.

Many struggle to determine if their e-KYC was successful. You can check it yourself:
- Reopen the Mera KYC App.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and location.
- Verify with OTP.

- If “Status: N” appears, the process is incomplete – redo it.

Not everyone is comfortable with digital methods. An offline option is also available for such beneficiaries.
You can visit your nearest ration shop or CSC (Common Service Centre) to complete your e-KYC. The officials there will verify your data using your Aadhaar and ration card.
